Root Canal Treatment

Root canal treatment can make all the difference between saving an infected tooth or loosing it. The treatment involves removing pulp tissues from the core of the tooth (pulp) when it has become infected. Causes of infection can include:

  • Deep decay
  • An extensive restoration involving the pulp
  • Damaged or cracked tooth due to trauma
  • Excessive wear of the enamel and dentine, causing exposure of the pulp
  • Severe gum disease

Signs of pulp damage may include a bad taste in the mouth, pain, tenderness of the gums surrounding the tooth and prolonged periods of sensitivity. However in some cases, there may be no symptoms whatsoever.

If you think you have a tooth infection, it is imperative that you receive help as soon as possible. Call Cotteswold House in Gloucester today on 01452 524 024 to book an appointment.
